Old fashioned type burger

used to be good but patties smaller now and dont taste the same. $7+ is just too much money for a hamburger....and why cant the wedge fries be crispy like KFC? why so soggy?

Best place I can go to for a good old fashion burger meal and feel. The price is higher than your average burger place but the burgers and the shakes are well worth it. Only thing that wasn't perfect were the fries.

A little expensive, but man the food is amazing. The staff is friendly and remembers your name. I like that they have some Capital Dog memorabilia too.

Only ate here once but it doesn't seem to deserve the hype it gets. They seemed a little disorganized. The guy in charge was super critical of one of the workers in front of the customers. Not cool. If things aren't working they way you want then train your people. Criticizing isn't training. Don't be a jerk. :)

My all-time favorite burgers! Been going here for almost 30 years now. I always go back. It costs a bit more but you just can't get a burger that tastes this good anywhere else. I suggest you go here now.

Get the french cut steak burger and either a shake or the fries.

Funky older corner cafe with American originals on its menu. The burger is a must and the fries are giant, hot and yummy. Wide selection of beverages. Def a god spot for friends and family.

The meat and fixings are VERY fresh, the burgers are cooked to perfection and the seasoning is just right... but the buns are what make these burgers absolutely magnificent. The bread is fresh, has give, and doesn't get all soggy and gooey. It has substance and flavor. The buns are nothing like what i've ever had anywhere else.

Best burger and fries in town! The decor is very kitschy, but with it's own charm. Staff are friendly. Finally, the hamburgers are ground steak on fluffy buns - the quality and flavor stand out in the world of burgers. Also, the french fries are the thickest I've seen, with a nice, soft texture. Very much a unique, local gem.

The best burgers in the Sacramento area - and yes, I also go to In-n-Out, Smashburger, Five Guys and The Habit on a regular basis. Nationwide Freezer uses ground steak, high quality buns and produce, and their wedge fries are fantastic. This is one of the places I try to take newcomers to Sacramento or out of towners to let them in on one of Sacramento's best casual restaurants.

I've been going to Nationwides since I was a child. Frank would work all hours. Many late nights I'd be next door at the flower shop and frank would be grinding fresh meats for perfect hamburger meat for his customers. The grill always hot and burgers cooked to perfection. French cheese a customer staple. Frank's son John has long taken over the family Traditions and runs a great establishment. And to all the people working there, your a fantastic bunch. Thanks for many years of awesome delicious burgers

I heard so many good things about this place.. the french steak burger and all.... but REALLY.. there is nothing special seriously.. and the prices are high (overpriced) for what you get.. The picture is better than the product.. basic burgers & fries... Lots of other places much better and you will save some serious dough! Basic cheeseburger, fires and coke $15 here.. a shake? $20! no no

I love this place. Best burgers in Sacramento! I found this place by accident and have been a fan from day one! Quality fresh ingredients (meat and non meat items). Great deal. Affordable. Fan for life.

Best burger joint in Sacramento.

We went here for a very early dinner at 5 p.m on a Wed. The place is cute although there are parts of it that are unused and make it seem sort of dirty. Coke advertising is everywhere. We ordered a hamburger without cheese, one with, onion rings, a coke, and a milkshake. We got two hamburgers with cheese and fries. The shake came out a few minutes after. We were the only ones there. The hamburgers were yummy and so were the fries. (We ate them anyhow) The total though was very expensive for what it was. $24.

Nothing special. Hated the fries.

The food was soggy and the cheese looked old and had been sitting out. My friends tomato was green. I feel i wasted my money. I wouldn't even feed this to my cat. I would had rather went to in and out!

The chintzy Decor is only part of the charm of this place. Of course the main reason to come here is the burgers which are sizable and juicy. Be sure to try them with their seasoned salt sauce in a bottle

Fantastic burgers without the hassle of a trendy sit-down. Great quality meat, deliciously thick bun. Reminds me of the classic burger joints I'd go to as a kid. Bacon was cut thick and cooked to perfection. The fries were very tasty but a bit too oily for my normal liking, but indulging in them every now and then is a good thing. Very friendly staff! Looking forward to coming back and trying a milkshake! Go here already!

Fantastic! I thought I'd had the best now I can say I have. It looked just like the picture and all the hype wasn't a lie. Must be the freshly ground steak that makes the difference.
